So! First shot of our Fem!Scout and Fem!Soldier cosplay.
(Forgive my lame title.
So, Crystal and I have been very excited to do TF2 cosplay!
We're planning to do female versions of the other classes, but since we only had 9 days (Yeah, I know, NINE DAYS. D: ) to make the costumes and props from scratch, we chose this pair first. (We hope to start and possibly finish the other TF2 pair cosplay of ours in the winter.
This was taken at the Lights && Cameras photoshoot meet @ Queen Elizabeth Park. However, the area has quite a lot of greenery and less cement/metal/etc., so we didn't get as many shots as we would have hoped.

Photography & editing:
This was taken by ~Hope-and-Fate via my camera.
I haven't had much time to take photo's or practice editing. Usually I don't do much to the photo's since I don't want to ruin the quality as I am still very new to photography and editing.
But for TF2, I thought, "What the hell?". I decided to take some... artistic license and forget about the rules of photography for a bit. I wanted to capture a more nitty gritty atmosphere for this. Of course, any tips on editing would be greatly appreciated.
We do plan to do a private photoshoot in the future with ~AfetoPhotography because not only does she know TF2, she'll probably be able to help us out with getting the atmosphere right!

I had to redo some parts (in the deviation after) but generally, that's pretty much how it was made.
I have yet to add in faux screws in.
Due to our lack of time, Crystal decided to do the Black Box.
We hope to be able to do more weapons for future shoots.
She used foam, craft board, paper mache, spray paint, paint and various other material I was unable to keep track of.
Crystal made the grenades out of construction paper based on a papercraft design. I believe she put something inside to solidify it.
Scout's outfit is rather casual so for Fem!Scout, there's not much I could do.
I looked up some fanart of Fem!Scout and also thought up how I would want her to be.
My initial point would be that she would be athletic, thus for hairstyle, I chose a long ponytail (doesn't get in the way while running). Shorts were chosen because it's logical if she were a runner, thus there'd be no drag in wearing baggy pants.
I was nervous about the top, but chose to do a shorter T-shirt.
Overall, you can see I had in mine this type of a woman for Fem!Scout: [link] Athletic.
I made sure to get a square army cap like Scout's and ordered then modified a pair of ear mufflers and added a mic. (Can't really see in this photo.)
Nothing to change with the soccer cleats and the arm bandages.
However, I made sure to paint out the third white stripe on Scout's cleats since his only have two white strips.
For the belt I bought two belts, one with a plated buckle and one that didn't have a plated buckle but was more suitable as a belt itself and then switched the buckles.
I bought the dog tags and personalize it with SCOUT engraved on one and RED on the other.
For hair, Crystal was deciding between a low bun on the back or wavy hair. She decided on wavy hair. Similar example for inspiration: [link]
There was also debate on whether Fem!Soldier should wear a skirt, shorts or similar pants and whether she should have heels or boots. In the end, we decided that since she is going to be fighting, she should be wearing something easier to fight in (for example, Medic and Spy would be the classes where there would be more leeway in their female version's clothing), thus is what we ended up in. Luckily, Crystal had done horse-back riding in the past, so she has used that for her bottom-wear. The jacket was bought and altered.
Helmet was a bowl she then painted and added straps to.
Makeup (Yup, you read right, haha.)
Obviously Scout is Caucasian while I am Asian,... so... there are some problems there.
I tried my best to portray Fem!Scout as properly as I could. Other than the standard make-up I use for cosplay, I also contoured certain parts of my face. Around my nose to bring up the bridge and the hollow of my cheeks since the sides of Scout's face do flatten. Also, my blue contacts expired so I had to use my green ones, I'm sorry!
Since Soldier's face is half covered, there wasn't too much to worry about, but Crystal did her basic cosplay makeup and also wore blue contacts (last we checked, Soldier has blue eyes... we think) in case we did any shots with her helmet up.
I think that's about it for my long-ass description. Sorry!
